The Dance

I did something. I danced.

I started ballet lessons last year, which comes complete with a year end recital. It's Saturday. I'm excited. I feel like I think my daughter did when she was 5 with her sparkly tutu costume, bubbly and bouncy...only I'm in a long flow-y twirly skirt.

And I honestly feel like spinning when I put it on. Something just happens when ballet slippers land on my feet and my twirly skirt goes on, I hold my head higher, my posture tighter and lazer beam focus comes in to each move as I count and re-count and trip and miss the step....what am I DOING?????? Can I do this at my age?? Yes. I'm living a dream. My dream. In my head when I dance I look like my teacher, lovely Miss Hannah. When I look in the mirror, reality clunks me over the head, but I avert my eyes and go back into my lovely Miss Hannah dance moment and carry on. I've learned that it's never too late to go back to school, to run a 5K, to loose weight, to dance, to blog, to redecorate, to have long hair, to dream. It's just never ever too late. I hope you dance this summer too.

  2. that's awesome- way to go! Really inspiring. I did ballet when I was young- from age 3 until middle school- I liked it so much, but ended up stopping because my older sister, who danced as well, got injured and couldn't anymore...mostly I was doing it to try and be like my big sis! I'd love to try again. Though at the same time i am way too nervous.

thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!
